The map shows the share of internet users as percentage of population in the Arctic region and the intensity of the colours indicate higher (dark blue) or lower (light blue) shares. Access to internet has become one of the most important means of communication worldwide. This is also the case in the Arctic. As its use has become more popular, there has been an increase in the speed of the internet and also a reduction in the cost. Highest shares (dark blue) can be found on Iceland, Alaska and Norway followed by Sweden, Finland, Yukon and Nunavik.
